Dynamic M Interviewed By Lisa November 2004
How long have you been an MC, and how did you get into it?
“About 5 years, I started when I was 15. I’ve quit now coz I want to concentrate on solely on my production of tunes. The scene is all about yoots now, and so I think its up to us older heads to give the scene some direction and order. Start putting out albums and send in international blud.”
How did Musical Mob start?
“I was at DJ Untouchable’s yard and we were messing saying how
we were mobsters in the music game, and then it just went from there.”
Who would you say is big in the game at the moment?
“Obviously Dizzee, you can’t knock the success he’s had, Kano’s gonna be massive, all the usual lot really. Things are looking good, I think. Cats are seeing that there's money to be made from this grime ting, cos it’s real, you get me.”
Do you think that being in a crew is better than being a solo artist?
“It depends how good you are. If you are up and coming a crew can support you, but at the end of the day, with in a crew you have to be a bigger person or you won’t get no recognition. The crew also needs to work together with an understanding between all members to be successful. You need to be a individual crew member and the others need to understand you.”
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
“Still in grime, I’m an original grime cat. Just a grimy n****a”
What is your advice for up and coming talent?
“Stay determined. Don’t listen to no one. Don’t rely on no one else. Be unique. But most of all, always get the money.”
